Cosmetic-Grade Powder: A fine, oil-soluble beta hydroxy powder commonly used in DIY skincare formulations such as cleansers, serums, exfoliating toners, gel bases, and treatment products.
Recommended Usage Percentage: Typically used at 0.5%–2% in cosmetic formulations. Beginners should start at lower percentages and gradually increase depending on the product type.
How to Use in DIY Formulations: Salicylic Acid dissolves best in solvents such as propylene glycol, butylene glycol, ethanol, or polysorbate before being added to formulations. Works well in products with a pH of 3–4. Ensure complete dissolution for a smooth, even blend.
Suitable for Multiple Skin Care Applications: Can be used in serums, exfoliating toners, gel-based cleansers, masks, and rinse-off products. Blend with humectants, botanical extracts, and surfactant bases for custom skincare creations.
Safety & Handling Measures: For external use only. Do not apply raw powder directly to the skin. Avoid inhaling powder. Keep away from children. Prevent contact with eyes. Use gloves and a mask when handling. Always patch test finished formulations before regular use.

Great for making your own acne cleanser
I added some of this to the Amazon Basics liquid soap to make an anti-acne cleanser for myself. It works nicely. I can adjust the amount between what helps with the acne vs what dries my skin out. I use it every day and it manages my pimples well over time.

It works.
Works really well if used wisely….i use mine with alovera gel for 10 mins maybe ..it works….adding a small scooper would have been a plus.

It works very well. I suggest mixing it with ethanol rather than isopropyl alcohol
There were two ways I could have gone to make a 30% solution for cosmetic purposes. One way uses isopropyl alcohol, the other ethanol (grain alcohol/Everclear). I was only able to find 70% rubbing alcohol in the local stores, and I found a solution I made using it did not work very well–there are higher grades of rubbing alcohol made, but they don’t sell them around here.I subsequently obtained some ethanol from a friend who makes herbal products, and I found I could make a solution that seems equally as effective as the commercially produced 30% solution I first tried several years ago (I tried three different 30% formulas, and only the first kind worked really well; I was pleased to duplicate its effects with my own solution). One can make a solution by calculating the volume of the salicylic acid, or with a lab scale. I used the lab scale, which took a little messing around with to make sure I was doing it right, but my guess is that the result is more precise. It has now been over a week since I applied the 30% salicylic acid solution I made to areas of my face that needed a little help, and the chemical peel action came out just right, not too strong, but promoting an even peel where applied. This product seems to work as intended–30% peels are generally not cheap, and this bag of salicylic acid powder is an economical investment.

Great product
This product does what it is recommended for. As a Trichologist I use it with other powders to clean my clients scalp and I see the difference.

HOLY CANNOLI! THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! SO MANY USES!!
My husband got a bottle of salicyclic acid, and asked me to reorder, and I stumbled on this. This is 100 percent pure, and it works great.I used this in many ways, so much, I had to reorder more.So this works for wounds, exfoliating and topical pain relief.I used this originally on my Jack Russell Terrier dog, Bandit. He had gotten attacked by some type of bugs in the soil by my house. I tried EVERYTHING in the pet department. This was recommended to me by my husband (scientist). I cleaned his wounds with mild soap and water, loaded up the “injuries” with this powder, and wrapped with medical waterproof tape. Within 24 hours, I noticed a HUGE difference in Bandits wounds.I also used this on my face to buff it ( be careful and hold your breath when applying, because I inhaled it a few times. Not that its dangerous, its like being caught in a chalky cloud, and made me cough, that is it)I noticed my wrinkles started to disappear, and my skin looked better also. After you put it on your face, you will probably want to use a little moisturizer. It is like having a mild chemical peel. I used it more than once…. I need ALOT of peeling after 52 years of being a sun bum. :)This is now a staple in my house.

Just ok
I was hoping this would be the perfect solution as I have terrible flaky skin and KP but it’s not as effective as other treatments with salicylic . Maybe I’m using it wrong- I was told it would be better as a toner by itself instead of adding to products. Overall- it’s ok.

Great quality, good for exfoliating/acne or warts
Very nice for mixing into my body wash or lotion (I use blender so no clumping)

Great price. Use first in your routine before hydrating well to avoid dry, damaged skin.
Good value! I mix this with my witch hazel toner at a 5% concentration, shaking each time before use as it isn’t completely soluble. It should go on before most heavier, hydrating prouducts. Moisturize after qpplication since this is a drying agent. I follow with niaminicide infused face lotion with a retinol alternative that isn’t as drying as retinol. Use this prouduct sparingly at first, and monitor any skin irritation that occurs. I use everyday before my moisturizing routine, sometimes twice a day depending on if I have to shower or wash my face. This prouduct is supposed to act as a chemical exfoliant, minimizing fine lines. My skin is very clear now, though it’s hard to say how much of it has to do with this, rather than my full skin regiment.

I used to buy expensive Paula’s Choice exfolainty, but with this I can make it even better exfoliant for a fraction of the price! I use a 70% mix of isopropanol-water and mix in 1g per 250ml (i.e. 4g per litre or 4%) of salicylic acid powder. For the Paula’s Choice 118ml bottle, I use 0.5g powder (one hefty 1/4 tsp aka 1.25ml scoop) and top up with isoprop mixture. 5% mix is maximum strength, most lotions are 2%
